Chocolate Chip Toffee Bars
Ingredients
- 2 ½ c. all purpose flour
- 2/3 c. light brown sugar
- ¾ c. butter
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1 c. coarsely chopped nuts
- 12 oz. semi sweet chips (divided)
- 14 oz. condensed milk
- 10 oz. toffee bits (divided)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350
- Stir together flour and sugar.
- Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add egg, mix well.
- Stir in nuts and 1 ½ c. chips.
- RESERVE 1 ½ c. of mixture
- Press remaining crumb mixture into 13 x 9 greased pan.
- Bake for 10 minutes
- Pour milk evenly over crust
- Top with 1 ½ c. toffee bits
- Sprinkle reserved crumb mixture on top
- Sprinkle remaining ½ c. chips
- Bake 25 – 30 minutes
- Sprinkle remaining toffee bits.
- Cool completely and cut into bars.
